Tylosin tartrate is the tartrate salt of tylosin, tylosin (Tylosin) is an antibiotic for livestock and poultry, a weakly basic compound extracted from the culture of Streptomyces. Tylosin is often made clinically into tartaric acid salt and phosphate. It is white or slightly yellow powder. Slightly soluble in water, can be made into water-soluble salt with acid, the salt aqueous solution is stable in weak alkaline and weak acidic solution. Tylosin Tartrate is a bacteriostat feed additive used in veterinary medicine. It has a broad spectrum of activity against gram positive organisms and a limited range of gram negative organisms. It is found naturally as a fermentation product of Streptomyces fradiae. Tylosin is used in veterinary to treat bacterial infections in as wide range of species and has a margin of safety. It has also been used as a growth promotant in some species, and as a treatment for colitics in companion animals.Moreover, there are cross resistance among the species of the same kind. The action mechanism of this product is that it can specifically bind to the A location of the ribosomal 30S subunit, and prevent the binding of aminoly TRNA on this site, thereby inhibiting the growth of peptide linkage and affecting the protein synthesis of bacteria. The first choice for the treatment of non bacterial infection of Chlamydia, Rickettsia,mycoplasma pneumonia disease, relapsing fever and other infections, but also for the treatment of brucellosis,cholera, tularemia, rat bite fever,anthrax,tetanus,plague,actinomycosis, gas gangrene and sensitive bacterial respiratory system, bile duct, urinary tract infection and skin and soft tissue infection etc.
